Pedals
Flat Pedals vs Clipped Pedals vs Clipless Pedals
What are the basic differences between bike pedals?
Flat Pedals:
These are the most basic pedals. They are flat and you just place your foot on them.
How They Work: Your foot is not attached to the pedal, so you can easily move it off and on.
Who Uses Them: Good for beginners, casual riders, and people who want to be able to put their foot down quickly.

Clipped Pedals:
These pedals have a cage, or "toe clip," that goes over the front of your foot.
How They Work: You slide your foot into the clip, which holds your foot in place on the pedal.
Who Uses Them: Often used by commuters or casual riders who want a little more control without being fully locked in.

Clipless Pedals:
Despite the name, these pedals actually "clip" your shoe to the pedal using a special cleat on the bottom of your shoe.
How They Work: You step on the pedal, and the cleat on your shoe locks into the pedal, holding your foot securely in place.
Who Uses Them: Popular among road cyclists and mountain bikers who want maximum efficiency and control. You have to twist your foot to unclip.

Summary:
- Flat Pedals are simple and easy to use.
- Clipped Pedals add some control but still allow easy exit.
- Clipless Pedals offer the most control and efficiency but require practice to use safely.
